Kiley Salak

Occupational Therapist

Hello all, welcome! My name is Kiley, and I’m a proud Bay Area native. I grew up in beautiful Marin County, where I currently reside with my husband, son, and our energetic dog, Artie. Outside of work, I love adventuring outdoors—hiking, walking, and running. I love to work out, practice yoga, and participate in activities that make my body feel strong and capable. I also enjoy traveling, cooking, exploring new restaurants, spending time with family and friends, and trying my hand at gardening (although I'm new to it, it brings me so much joy).

In addition to my clinical work, I hold certifications in Physical Agent Modalities and have completed coursework through the Brain Injury Association of America. I’ve been actively involved in program development, helping to enhance the occupational therapy department and its services. I have also contributed to Kaiser Vallejo’s brain injury program Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) team, ensuring high standards in brain injury rehabilitation programs.

Through my work in the hospital-based setting, I, too, have become increasingly aware of and discouraged by the gaps in services offered to clients once they are discharged home. This realization has fueled my passion to expand care into the home environment and beyond. I am so excited to join the Holistic Life Skills team to be able to close this gap and maximize recovery!

With over a decade of experience in occupational therapy, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals recover from neurological conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injuries, and brain injuries at Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center in Vallejo, CA. For the past five years, my focus has been on brain injury rehabilitation, working closely with clients to restore independence, improve quality of life, and navigate the complexities of recovery. I consider myself a mindfulness-based practitioner, integrating a mind-body approach into my therapy sessions.

I feel truly fortunate to have worked with each and every client, helping them improve their skills and independence in the activities that mean the most to them. My goal is to help you live a life of meaning and purpose through individualized care and a focus on YOUR goals. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey toward meaningful recovery and mindful living.
